Either you run the day or the day runs you. You do not know what the next is, even if it’s planned. Your next move can define the rest of your future. I just came back from winter break, and sitting here in class thinking what will my next move be. It is now halftime, but there is no time to rest. My last first half of high school is now coming to an end. It’s crazy, I can’t remember the first day of my senior year, but I can remember my first exact day of high school.
My last winter break is now over, and has been the fastest of all. I was prepared for it to go in a flash the very first day, it always does. It has now hit me that that was my last in high school. Spending time with my family, and going out of town, that’s what consisted of my christmas break. It was one of the most memorable breaks that I’ve had. I was able to work with my dad, earn some money, and also visited Los Angeles on New Year's to see my step- aunt.
Don’t think I forgot about all the homework I had to finish. Although I wish I would’ve completed even more homework, I am somewhat proud of what I was able to accomplish. Comparing it to last year, I ended up pulling an all nighter because I didn’t do anything for a whole 21 days. I am still working on the procrastination that was more severe in the past. I feel like I will always have the same mentality but I have to still be able to manage my time wisely.
My first semester was the start of my development, I always wish I had done some things different. Without my struggles and regrets, then I wouldn’t learn, therefore I wouldn’t challenge myself. I realized I have come a long way from my freshman year, I have changed my ways but it still all is a learning experience. In my first semester’s classes I was somewhat on pace in the start. As time went on, I started losing track of time and ended up only being on pace in a couple of classes.
As the semester is now ending, there is no time to waste, I do not want to have regrets later. It is now or never, I’m going to hit these last weeks like I’ve never hit it before, I’m ready. Before graduation, I still need a couple projects to accomplish, with my classes put aside.
College applications so far are going great, I am very content on the news I’ve received from the 3 out of 6 colleges that I applied to. So far I have been accepted to CSU Bakersfield, CSU Dominguez Hills, and Humboldt State. From these 3 colleges I believe I would choose CSU Dominguez Hills because of what it has to offer. I am still hoping to hear from San Diego State, San Bernardino State, and CSU Long Beach. However, as of right now with some dedication and fuse in my system, I can accomplish the coming tasks I have in my classes.
