High school was a drastic change in my life, as it is for many others. I remember the first day coming in, believing the stories many of my siblings and cousins would tell me. " Freshmans always get trashed, and booed" they would mention. I would never pay attention until the first day of school came, different people, different environment, the first big step towards a successful future.
I remember getting in the car and my teeth were chattering, I was nervous to what was coming my way. Freshman year was a great introduction to high school, were the babies and its not fun being one. The rallies, food, classes, friends, it was a change, a new beginning. Freshman year my friends and I met some Senior girls that actually talked to us and liked having us around, they had their own benches because they were seniors, we kinda just sat on the side. Instead of older people trashing us, my friends and I would just trash each other, but it was all around just a funny thing to do.
Furthermore, coming into high school I was ahead in my mathematics by a year, and that class was the one I felt the most strong about. Grades in the beginning were adequate, 4's and 3's. Going into sophomore year my motivation was diminishing, I lacked an amount of dedication and procrastinated to the max. I received about two in progress grades after my year, which I do not get away with bad grades at home. Freshman year I got the opportunity to play football for about 2 games and then that sport faded away, I ended up breaking my thumb all the way leading to my wrist, I also had back problems and ended up going to therapy for about 6 weeks. Therapy was a healing process and afterwards I wasn't feeling any back pain. I then entered basketball and did enjoy, I was looking forward to baseball but did not get the chance to play, I took my grades into consideration.
I am only a sophomore but my dream one day is to work in the Criminology field, an FBI or CIA. I hope to get there by attending UC Davis or UCSD where my aunt goes. I will lead the rest of my life in my high school career, I have to be able to balance a fun side and the learning process it takes to get where I want to be.
